Treatments

The following treatments are used to cure the disease: .. Pre-hospital care Globe Rupture is a serious condition. It should be treated under the guidance of an ophthalmologist, but some pre-hospital care should be taken while transporting the patient. The ruptured globe should be saved from any pressure. Non-ophthalmologists Sometimes it is treated by non-ophthalmologists. This includes corneal abrasions and also chemical splashes. If the globe rupture is acute, then it requires immediate ophthalmological care. Many a times, surgeons prefer to have intraocular lens implantation. Also, antibiotics are required to prevent any eye loss. Fox shield For the treatment of this problem, a fox shield is placed over the affected area. Polystyrene foam cup may be placed instead of the fox shield. Any eye manipulation is avoided during the treatment, as it may increase the pressure of intraocular contents with potential extrusions.

Prevention
