Faculty of nursing in collaboration with the Department of Marketing, Rama University, organized an awareness drive for adolescent girls at Jawahar Lal Nehru Intercollege, Kalyanpur, Kanpur, on 26th November 2019.
Faculty of nursing in collaboration with the Department of Marketing, Rama University, organized an awareness drive for adolescent girls at Jawahar Lal Nehru Intercollege, Kalyanpur, Kanpur, on 26th November 2019.
100 girls in age group 11-16 years attended the program. The topics discussed under the program were adolescent health and menstrual hygiene. An interactive session highlighted adolescent health problems, application of sanitary pads and their disposal with the students. The importance of menstrual hygiene and its steps were also discussed in detail.
The girls were very enthusiastic and took active part in the discussion. The response of the event was overwhelming, as girls felt empowered with more knowledge. Various myths about menstruation were also discussed. The Principal, Sh. Jagpal Singh Chauhangave his wholehearted support for the event. The team from Rama University involved Mr. Nandan Kumar Singh, Deputy Manager, Marketing, Ms. Khushboo, Tutor, Ms. Priyanka, Tutor, Ms. Shailja, Ms. Neelam, Ms. Sheelu, P.B.B.Sc Nursing students, Ms. Ranjana and Ms. Nidhi B.Sc Nursing 3rd Year Students, Rama University. The event was well organized under the leadership of Mrs. A.C. Singh, Principal, Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, Mrs. Namita Batra Guin, Associate Professor, and Mr. Ravi Singh, Manager Marketing, Rama University.
