CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) POLICY OF
 RAMA MEDICARES LIMITED
 
Corporate Social Responsibility is strongly connected with the principles of Sustainability; an organization should make decisions based not only on financial factors, but also on the social and environmental consequences. Therefore, it is the core corporate responsibility of Rama Medicares Limited to practice its corporate values through its commitment to grow in a socially and environmentally responsible way, while meeting the interests of its stakeholders.
 
GUIDING PRINCIPLES OF CSR POLICY :
 
1. OBJECTIVE: - This Policy has been formulated in compliance with Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013   read along with the applicable rules thereto.
 
 2. CSR VISION: -   Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuous and constant practice of serving the community selflessly and giving back to the society by which we are sustaining. Growth of a Company not only depends upon the efforts made by Directors, management and employees but also upon the environment under which it carries out its commercial activities. It is the moral duty of the Company to contribute something for the development of needy, poor and weaker section of society. Sustainable development and development for all are the two mantras of effective Corporate Social Responsibility.
 
3. COMPOSITION OF THE COMMITTEE:-  The CSR Committee shall consist of three or more Directors, out of which at least one Director shall be an Independent Director. The Board may, as and when required, alter the composition of the Committee. Presently the composition of the Committee is  as follows:

4. ROLE OF THE CSR COMMITTEE:-
 
A. Formulate and recommend to the Board, a Corporate Social Responsibility Policy in compliance with Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013.
B. Identify the activities to be undertaken as per Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013.
C. Institute a transparent monitoring mechanism for implementation of the CSR projects or programs or activities undertaken by the Company. 
D. Recommend the amount of CSR expenditure to be incurred on the earmarked CSR activities.
E. Monitor the implementation of the CSR Policy from time to time. 
F. Such other functions as the Board may deem fit.
 
5. EXPENDITURE NOT COVERED OR RECOGNISED 
 
          In terms of the Rules, the following contributions shall not be considered as CSR Expenditure; 
 
A. Contributions of any amount, whether directly or indirectly, to any political party or any person associated with a political party.
 
B. Amount spent, whether directly or indirectly, for the benefit of employees of the Company, its Subsidiaries and Associates and their families. 
 
C. Expenses incurred by the Company for the fulfillment of obligations any act / statute of regulations (such as labour laws, land acquisition act etc.)
 
D. Expenses incurred by the Company for one off events such as marathons / awards / charitable contribution / advertisement / sponsorships of TV programs etc. 
 
E. Other contributions / expenses not recognized under the Act / Rules as amended or modified, from time to time.
 
 
6. CSR ACTIVITY :-  It means and includes but is not limited to:-
 
I. Projects or programmes relating to activities specified in Schedule VII to the Act; 
 
II. Projects or programmes relating to activities undertaken by the Board of Directors of a company (the Board) in pursuance of recommendations of the CSR Committee of the Board in the manner prescribed in the CSR policy.
 
 It is pertinent to mention that any activity which is undertaken exclusively for the benefit of employees of the company or their family members shall not be considered as CSR activity.
 
 
7. COMPLIANCE, MONITORING AND REPORTING :- Compliance with this policy will be continuously monitored by the CSR Committee at its meeting(s), subject to annual review by the Board of Directors. The Contents of this policy shall be disclosed in the Board report and placed on the Company’s website. Compliance will be reported to stakeholders through the Company’s Annual Report. The Board shall ensure spending of allocated amount on CSR activities and report the status in its annual report, also specify the reasons of non spending of the allocated amount, if any. The members of the CSR committee shall be appointed or removed by the Board of Directors by way of Resolution. The Chairman and Managing Director of the Company shall be the Chairman of the Committee and in his absence any other member of the CSR Committee shall preside over the meeting(s) of the CSR Committee. Company Secretary shall be the Secretary of the CSR Committee. 
 
8. CSR EXPENDITURE
CSR expenditure will include all expenditure, direct and indirect, incurred by the
Company on CSR Programme(s) undertaken in accordance with the approved CSR Plan. Moreover, any surplus arising from any CSR Programme(s) shall be used for CSR. Accordingly, any income arising from CSR Programme(s) will be netted off from the CSR expenditure and such net amount will be reported as CSR expenditure.
 
9. Effective Date
This Policy is Effective from 01St April, 2014.
 
 
 
Checkup Camp for Kashmir Flood Victims

The ravaging floods that started due to incessant rains have shaken the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Roads, schools, Hospitals, shops and residential complexes have been submerged. Agricultural lands and cattle have been washed away. People have died in this calamity; Thousands have been rendered homeless and are seeking refuge due to this unfortunate natural catastrophe. There has been a huge loss to public and private property.

In this grim situation, Rama University’s Faculty of Medical Sciences, Mandhana, Kanpur started voluntary rescue and rehabilitation work in affected areas of Kashmir from 28/09/2014 to 04/10/2014 under the supervision and Guidance of Dr. Durgesh, Asst. Proffesor, Physiology along with J&K Disaster Relief Forum & Nagrik News Paper. RMC has concentrated its efforts on sanitation and medical facilities for the victims. Free Medical Camps were organized in different rural areas of Kashmir with a team of 30 Volunteer Doctors.   The team of Doctors also distributed free medicines, ration, utensils, cooing stoves, blankets, water bottles and clothing etc. to the affected people. “We are not only conducting medical checkups but providing psychological support also which is must in such kind of situations” told Dr. Durgesh, Asst. Proffesor, Physiology RMC.

Faculty of Rama Medical Sciences’s health initiatives are being headed by a very experienced team of Doctors – Dr. R.K. Srivatava Principal Rama Medical College, Dr. D.K.Shukla, Dr. S.B. Mishra, Dr. haira Bano, Dr. Anita Tondon, Dr. Manju Lata Arya, Dr. Nusrat Nabi and other Faculty members of RMC, Mandhana, Kanpur.

           

           

Rama Dental College and Hospital organized free checkup and treatment camp on last Saturday (21st June 14) at Rishi Bakers Pvt. Ltd., Dada Nagar Panki, Kanpur.

More than 100 patients were checked by Oral Cancer Specialist Doctors and have been provided free medicines.

Dr. Ashish Bhalla (Sr. Lecturer C.D.) and his team spread awareness on the risks of Tobacco consumption and told about the diseases of the mouth that happen due to Tobacco chewing. Patients were provided free consultation by specialists and free medicines have been distributed.

Rama University’s Faculty of Dental Sciences organized Free Dental Checkup and Awareness Camp at Escort World School, Kanpur

Rama Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Lakhanpur, Kanpur organized a free dental checkup and awareness camp at Escort World School, Kanpur on Monday (25.08.2014). A team of Senior Specialist Dental Surgeons, Students and Staff from Rama Hospital carried out a comprehensive dental checkup on students. The camp was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent from them. The Doctors also discussed about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay.

The surgeons also highlighted about the possible formation of harmful acids which develops when bacteria (plaque) get in contact with sugar in the mouth which ultimately results in tooth decay. “Added sugars often are present in soft drinks, candies, cookies, pastries and therefore to control the consumption of sugar one must read the food labels and choose the right foods and beverages that are low in added sugar”, the dental surgeons added. The students got ample opportunities to interact with the dental surgeons to enquire and gain knowledge concerning oral diseases. On completion of the dental checkup each student was given a Patient Card, a report summary of the diagnosed problem and the recommended dental treatment plan.

The Principal of Escort World School, Kanpur thanked the dental surgeons, staff and the management of Rama Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Lakhanpur, Kanpur for rendering moral and selfless service to the school. Dental checkup and awareness camp is one of the many social activities organized by the Rama Group throughout the year.

Rama Hospital, Mandhana, Kanpur Organized A Free Heart Checkup Camp

Rama Hospital’s department of Cardiology, Mandhana, Kanpur organized a free heart checkup camp at Rama hospital on Sunday (03-08-2014). Rama Hospital’s Cardiologists gave free consultation to more than 100 patients. Dr. Abu Talha Siddiqui and Dr. Pranjal Prakash told that at least 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke can be avoided if the main risk factors like tobacco, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity are in control. Doctors also advised the importance of a life-course approach to the prevention and control of Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Diseases. The Camp was organized under the direction of Dr. L.K. Verma (CMS Rama Hospital, Mandhana, Kanpur). He also shared details about Hospital’s well equipped cardiology center which is providing cardiac care to patients at par with international standards. ECG and Cholesterol tests were done free of cost in the camp and special rates have been offered to camp patients in all treatments of heart.

Rama Dental College & Hospital, Lakhanpur, Kanpur conducted free eye check-up camp in association with Dainik Jagran

Rama Dental College & Hospital, Lakhanpur, Kanpur conducted free eye check-up camp in association with Dainik Jagran on Sturday 20th September 2014. The experts from Rama Hospital examined around 75 patients for eye related problems in Rama Hospital, Lakhanpur. The camp was conducted with a vision “A willingness to ensure positive and quality eye care to the under privileged”. A doctors’ team from Rama hospital rendered their services free of cost in the camp. The camp started at 9:00am and concluded at 2:00pm. Various tests were conducted to detect vision deficiencies, cataract and so on. A total of 17 patients were identified for the cataract surgery for free during the camp. Post operative follow up checkups were also organized by the camp organizers to ensure continuity of care. Rama Hospital’s senior eye specialist, Dr. Nutan Saxena motivated people for timely eye check and eye donation. Besides conducting the tests, medicines were given free of cost to the needy patients during the camp. The camp was meant for the poor people who had eye disorders but were not able to get the cure because of their poverty.
